Signing of Veterans Fraud Bill Praised by Nevada County Veterans Services

Nevada County's Veterans Services Officer is praising the signing of legislation designed to crack down on predatory practices targeting vets and service members navigating the complex federal benefits system. David West, who has also been the president of the California Association of County Veterans Service Officers, called the legislation an important step in protecting those who have served. The bill targets organizations and individuals who charge veterans fees for assistance with benefits claims that are available for free through accredited representatives.
