Nevada County Supervisor Robb Tucker Launches Congressional Campaign

Nevada County District 2 Supervisor Robb Tucker has announced his candidacy for Congress in California's newly redrawn Congressional District 3, according to a campaign website launched on February 10, 2026.

Tucker, who was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2024 and took office in January 2025, is entering a race left open after incumbent Rep. Kevin Kiley announced he would not seek re-election in the redrawn district.

According to the Federal Elections Commission website, four other candidates have filed to run for the seat in the June primary election. Among them is Nevada County District 1 Supervisor Heidi Hall, who was the first candidate to announce her candidacy and is running as a Democrat.

The unusual situation of two sitting Nevada County supervisors running for the same congressional seat could have significant implications for county governance, potentially creating two vacancies on the five-member board.

Tucker's campaign website states: "As a Supervisor, I have stood up for meaningful solutions to protect public safety, support small businesses and create jobs, and protect our quality of life through a responsible balance of growth, development, and agriculture. Now, I am running for Congress to take that solutions-oriented leadership to Washington, D.C."

According to YubaNet, the Tucker campaign had not responded to requests for comment as of the article's publication. Tucker's party affiliation was not specified in the campaign announcement.

The June primary election will narrow the field, with the top two vote-getters advancing to the general election regardless of party.
