Frances May Dresbach, 92, of Grass Valley

Frances May Dresbach passed peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in Grass Valley, California, after a brief illness. She was born October 3, 1933, in Oakland, California, to Leo and Jessie Dickie.

Frances grew up in Saratoga, California, where she attended Saratoga Grammar School and Los Gatos High School. There she met George "Bob" Dresbach, whom she married and with whom she celebrated 72 years of marriage. Together they raised their four daughters in Los Gatos and later moved to Pt. Richmond before settling in Grass Valley 23 years ago.

Over her lifetime, Frances co-owned The Stitchery Shop in Campbell during the 1970s and later worked as a bookkeeper for the Odd Fellows Home for the State of California. She was known for her genuine sweetness and her love of adventure. Frances and Bob enjoyed sailing and traveling extensively in their fifth wheel, visiting Alaska, Canada, Mexico, and throughout the United States.

She is survived by her devoted husband George Robert Dresbach, her sister Laverne Westphal, and four daughters: Diana Dresbach, Linda Dresbach, Patricia Shore (Glenn), and Marlene Dresbach (Jackie Hill). She also leaves behind five loving grandchildren—Christopher Shore, Knowlton Shore, Katherine Galloway, Kylee Dresbach-Hill, and Griffen Dresbach-Hill—as well as thirteen great-grandchildren.
